Art Masters is interactive multi-media art education based on the lives and works of the master artists.
Each lesson involves a 3-Step System: 1. Art History 2. Art Technique 3. Art Activity
Teachers are trained to go back to their classrooms and guide students through a lesson creating their own work of art in the style of a master artist.

René Magritte: Beyond RealismSept. 17th & 18th, 2009
No other artist has influenced modern advertising as greatly as René Magritte. A contemporary of M. C. Escher, Magritte’s art challenges the eye to see and the mind to think. Slides of his remarkable paintings delight students and teachers alike with never ending possibilities for interpretation. Follow-up studio work allows students to create their own surrealist landscapes, inspired by Magritte’s implausible dreamscapes.
John James Audubon: Realist or Naturalist?Dec. 3rd & 4th, 2009
The art of John James Audubon introduces students, not only to the world of the naturalist, but also to the enormous task of the scientific illustrator. With slides, stories, music and games, the assembly presentation highlights Audubon’s exciting quest to publish a book containing life-sized illustrations of every bird in America. Follow-up studio work challenges students to find and include as many details possible in their own scientific illustrations of North American birds.
The Abstract Art of Wassily KandinskyJan. 21st & 22nd, 2010
The Russian born abstract painter, Wassily Kandinsky believed that paintings do not have to represent the visible world. Instead of images, his art is filled with strong, brilliant abstract colors and shapes that are full of feeling. His passion for music inspired him to paint the color of music and the shape of sound. His dazzling colors and explosive shapes inspire students to create their own vibrant abstract compositions based on a theme.
Louise Nevelson: Between Painting and SculptingJan. 21st & 22nd, 2010
The Russian born Louise Nevelson is one of the most celebrated women sculptors in America. Her abstract sculpture made of joined pieces of ready-made materials, such as packing crates, or discarded wooden ornaments, earned her many important awards. Nevelson often referred to herself as the “Architect of Shadows.”Her exciting life and room-sized sculptures inspire students to create smaller relief sculptures of their own. Students learn basic creasing, slitting, and curling techniques as they create paper relief compositions.
